Heart on My Sleeve

I know. It’s been a while, my life has been scattered so my posts have been lacking. But that isn’t what’s important. What IS important is that I have come back for this post with THIS :

This is, ladies and gentlemen, the latest line of clothing from a celebrity. Aubrey O’Day is in Danity Kane . I just found out that Danity Kane is apparently not the same thing as PCD . You see, past The Spice Girls, I assume that ’singing’ groups that are comprised of several girls are all the same. Apparently, the aren’t? But I digress.

Ms. O’Day has come up with a line of clothing featuring t’s for men and women, underwear and bizarre head accessories .

Now, I would LOVE to spend all my time on the bizarre head accessories , and how they are so poorly done that not even an alt would wear them to be ironic. Even though I know they know they are supposed to be post-ironic now, I don’t know if one could help their self. But once again, the greatness of this latest collection of clothing has gotten the best of me.

On to the T’S!

This line features everything:

T’s for the pre-teen:

T’s for the emo (just ignore the fact that it is in yellow):

T’s for the people who are sluts, just in case everyone DIDN’T know:

Anyway, you get the idea. Hell, you could come up with names for the perspective buyer of these t’s yourself. It’s not that hard. Where I am going with this is: The shirts are terrible, they could all be found at Wal-mart. With the exception of the slutty ones, and the fact that they are printed on American Apparel.

The designs are lacking, I mean really, if I hired graphic designers to come up with these AWESOME designs, I would fire these people. The messages are slut-tastic, but so is DK. And they have a deliciously, and by ‘deliciously’ I mean wretched, gimmick of a heart printed on every sleeve in lieu of the name of the line. Barf.

I cannot, however, leave this post without some positivity. So here goes: Points for the American Apparel . Points for the line of clothing about Aubrey . I mean if you can get shirts to pimp out yourself, good for you. And points to the ANTM contestants who got jobs, but they aren’t smiling with their eyes!

Here’s the headband:

I couldn’t help it, they are kind of growing on me.

Thank YOU Heart on My Sleeve Shop

OH! And another thing: the image at the top of the site, the take off of Sixteen Candles bothers me too. Like the JC Penny’s Breakfast Club commercial.

Omni Peace T

So, I decided to be lazy, and use the lead that my dear friend, Petey, who I think is the only person who reads this blog gave, me… Unless of course I blog about Ashlee Simpson (srsly, most hits evah= younger simpson sister.) But I digress.

He pointed out this t, which is in currently growing popularity:

Omni Peace

You buy it, they give money to Sub-Saharan Africa. Not like I needed to tell you that, you could have figured that out yourself. Anyway celebrities love to wear it , because it makes them feel better.

The whole idea reminds me of when I was in 5th grade when we had to do this fund-raiser, where we sold t-shirts. These shirts had some awesome imagery of endangered animals . And somewhere in there, the animals got a cut and the school got a cut… And everyone felt good about themselves. Because they got an awesome shirt , that today, they wouldn’t be caught dead in…hopefully.

Jason Mraz Cassette T

So Jason Mraz’s album dropped today. I heart him, big time. To commemorate his album, We Sing We Dance We Steal Things I am going to put up one of his pieces of merch.

Now, I know band t, blah. But this is kind of cool: he sponsored a design competition where his fans turned in art and the winners’ pieces were put on t’s. And that is pretty cool, if you ask me.

My fave:

Jason Mraz Cassette

If you asked me today how to use a cassette tape, it would take me a good 5 min. to figure it out. My ineptitude with past technologies aside, it reminds me of my childhood, and my first boom box, and I like that.

So Thank YOU Jason Mraz’s Online Store .

P.S. The jury’s still out on my opinion of the album.

Cracker, Please

So there’s this comedian by the name of Mike Birbiglia. And I don’t listen to a lot of any stand-up. But I came across his t’s; by which he has parlayed his stand-up into t-shirts. I am sure that there are others who do this, but like I said, I wouldn’t know because I don’t pay attention to stand-up comedians.

There are lots of designs on his site, but I especially like this one:

Cracker, Please

Nothing quite like takin’ ‘cracker’ back.

Thank YOU Birbigshirts.com

Mr. Douchebag

I was a little at a loss this morning when I was trying to come up with something to post today. You see, I have to think of these things in the morning, or by the time I drag myself home I am too mentally drained by terrible t’s to post.

But as I do every morning, or at least every lunch-hour, I run through my check-list of celebrity rag blogs (yes I loves ‘em).

That delightful blog known as Dlisted provided me with the perfect piece of fodder.

See the following:

If you read the article, apparently some fan gave it to him. I think that it is the perfect companion piece to the ever-popular, although Lord knows why, female version . JM, who is a self-proclaimed d-bag , couldn’t take it for long and did this:

‘Tis a shame… I liked it better the first way.

I am going to take issue however, with the fact that I think that the ‘lil mr. character should have been modeled more after this kind of ‘bag . Instead of the 1970’s Miami comb-over glory that he was modeled after.

Thank YOU Dlisted

Ashlee Simpson for Wet Seal

First off, I have a real problem with people who can’t spell names.
Now then. Wet Seal is carrying an Ashlee Simpson line of t’s, along with other garments. What I love about these t’s is that they are not-as-much-fun knock offs of Paris Hilton’s portrait t’s.
Take the following:

Little Miss Obsessive

Blah. As if Ashlee’s birth year threw up on a t-shirt.

Here’s the Hiton version:

Paris Worhol

Yes, slightly self-important, as she dons the t herself. BUT the Warhol homage is always appreciated on this blog.

Thank you Wet Seal .
And daily mail for the Hilton Pic

*UPDATE* One of my favorite blogs, Gallery of the Absurd Had a great post about the clothing line, I would put up an image and/or link to the post, but I am lazy, and I need to get to work. BUT! you should check it out!
