Collegiate Trend, Part Deux

I know, lame, I am repeating yesterday’s subject. However, I thought that I would put this one up here.KU Campus Cloth

Part of this “vintage” college trend has spilled into businesses like Campus Cloth.
They specialize in t’s just for the University of Kansas, and they are based in KU’s home, Lawrence, KS. They are far better than some other t-shirt companies in Lawrence.

Thank YOU Campus Cloth

Collegiate Trend

Oh the ever popular vintage t. At first, they were ts with silly sayings that weren’t necessarily retro, but they were made to look retro, which is, let’s face it, far more important when it comes to hip ts. Especially from hip t kind of places like Urban Outfitters .

Well, the new hip vintage t is the vintage college t. Using original vintage imagery of big-name schools and soon, even your school, the new/old collegiate t is borne.

I will take you through the steps:
1. Write the name of the college or mascot in a college-looking font.

2 Place the college’s mascot underneath the name.

3. Create some kind of distortion on the image so it looks like you pulled it out of your mom’s closet.

See the following result:

Kentucky Wildcats

The aforementioned rules are not hard-and-fast, however they are generally accepted guidelines. I might also suggest, printing the image in some kind of awkward placement, such as too high, or a bit too low, a pocket print that isn’t quite where it should be THAT makes it truly classic.

Check out Chip & Pepper for the most comprehensive of these t’s. They are sold at places like Urban Outfitters and Standard Boutique .

Thank YOU Chip & Pepper

College Corner: The Pubcrawl

If there is any reason for t-shirts in college life, it is the pubcrawl. Today I was heartened to find that international students are just as interested in participating in this silly American college weekend excursion as their American counterparts. We made t’s for the Czech kids.

I would like to take this opportunity to document some of my favorite pubcrawl t’s. It is pubcrawl season after all! In no particular order:

-The Drink Your Face Off Pubcrawl

-The Booze Cruise Pubcrawl

-The Without the Marketing Club, We’d Just be Alcoholics Anonymous Pubcrawl

-The Forget It All Pubcrawl (which happens at the end of every semester)

And here’s an all-American sentiment for a pubcrawl t:

If there is one shirt that is prevalent throughout all college experiences, it is this one:

College T

Which is and was only cool when this guy was wearing it:

John Belushi

and not when you wear it. Period.

thank YOU all posters
